Over February half term I wanted to interview people about their experience during this pandemic. I took photographs of these people outside their home and they answered a few questions I had to ask. Below are the responses of these individuals.
Bradley & Sarah

Name & Job Title:
Brad. Electrician
Have You Been Working Or Furloughed?
I have been working the entirety of the Pandemic apart from 2 week off in the first lockdown.
What Was Your First Lockdown (March 2020) Experience Like?
I felt my first lockdown experience was quite nice. I got to spend some quality time with my fiancé Sarah which is normally rare for us as we are always busy working full time. I also drank alcohol, ate lots of pizza and got fat.
What Were Your First Thoughts Of COVID-19?
At the start I was very uptight. I was wearing the full PPE – masks, gloves, sanitising and anti-bac. I did start to chill about but I am still strict with it all.
What Has Your Third Lockdown (January 2021) Experience Been Like?
Personally, I feel there is no difference apart form the pubs being closed (which is depressing). It’s been quite bitty with things you can and cannot do.
What Are Your Current Thoughts On COVID-19.
I think that it has dulled down, and that people should still take it as seriously as March last year but people haven’t. There are still lots of problems with the government, locking down the country but keeping the airports open. I feel like there is more that they can do to get us through it.
What Are You Doing For Our Own Well-Being?
Beer. Lots of beer. I’ve been thankful that I have two wonderful dogs. They are rays of sunshine with uplifting personalities. I am also grateful to be living with Sarah as we can keep each other positive. A as I am working full time I’ve been able to keep myself busy.

Name & Job Title:
Sarah. March-July I was a cover supervisor in a school. At present I am a Health care assistant in GP Surgery
Have You Been Working Or Furloughed?
I have been a key worker in both lockdowns and working full time. I did get a few weeks off between my job transitions.
What Was Your First Lockdown (March 2020) Experience Like?
It was really helpful in a strange way. I was in my last year of University and my dissertation was due. I used the lockdown to my advantage to complete this without any other distractions. I was also in the garden sunbathing in the really nice weather. I did find parts of it hard as I couldn’t see my parents who live in Devon.
What Were Your First Thoughts Of COVID-19?
I was confused at the start because there was lots of cross communication on the media. It only hit both myself and brad when we arrived back from our holiday to Rome. We got back a week before they began closing their borders so was very thankful.
What Has Your Third Lockdown (January 2021) Experience Been Like?
This lockdown hasn’t made a massive difference as I’ve been working full time. I’ve met new patients and also attended a few online courses. Again, it’s difficult as I cannot see my family, especially my grandmother who I haven’t seen in a year as she lives up in York. On the other hand the lockdown has been beneficial for my relationship with Brad as we are saving up towards a mortgage deposit.
What Are Your Current Thoughts On COVID-19.
I think the vaccine is going to make a big difference and for a lot of people it is looking like a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s annoying because working in health care you can see everything you are doing to help people but can see that people aren’t taking things as serious as they should. I was driving home from work as was stuck in traffic during a ‘lockdown’ and I’ve noticed high streets are not as empty as they should be.
What Are You Doing For Our Own Well-Being?
I’m keeping myself busy by working and also wedding planning. Its positive to know that something good will come in time. Brad and I also try to go for a walk at least once a week. I keep telling myself not to dwell on the fact that this pandemic is going on but to look to the fact that this won’t be forever.
