Over February half term I wanted to interview people about their experience during this pandemic. I took photographs of these people outside their home and they answered a few questions I had to ask. Below are the responses of these individuals.
Monique & Glen
Name & Job
Glenn. Pastoral Assistant
Have you been working or furloughed?
I have been working full time and have been going into work.
What was your first lockdown (March 2020) experience like?
It was nice really because it was sunny. We managed to relax, drink a lot and had a few BBQs. We recently moved into our new house so we would go out on walks to see our local area and find places to go.
What were your first thoughts of COVID-19?
I did think it was scary but was also trying to stay positive and reassure Mon that it will be okay as she was very paranoid.
What Has Your Third Lockdown (January 2021) Experience Been Like?
This one has been quite long. It’s been boring with not much to do and the weather being cold. I am lucky and grateful to still be going into work and continue with a routine.
What are your current thoughts on COVID-19.
I am still scared and worried as it is in circulation and anyone can have it unknowingly, but am positive that we are closer to a new normal life with the vaccine being rolled out.
What are you doing for our own well-being?
Work has kept me busy so haven’t been stuck at home all day. With football season back on I’ve been watching lots of the games and also eating good food and drinking.

Have you been working or furloughed?
I have been working full time but working from home.
What was your first lockdown (March 2020) experience like?
I remember it being very sunny. It was very chilled, we went on lots of walks and also sat in the garden and drank quite a lot. We were lucky as we moved into our new house before lockdown happened so we had that to distract us.
What were your first thoughts of COVID-19?
I was very scared. I can remember first hearing about the virus on the media and then freaking out. Glen was trying to reassure me it would be fine and that it wouldn’t make its way over to the UK… how wrong he was.
What has your third lockdown (January 2021) experience been like?
This has been the worst. It’s horrible because the weather is cold, miserable and wet. We have still been trying to go for walks but it really is weather permitted. We did get engaged in October 2020 so we had wedding planning to stay positive and also a new addition to the family, we rescued a kitten.
What are your current thoughts on COVID-19.
I personally feel more scared now than in the beginning. I think this is because of the different strands of COVID that is coming into circulation along with the rising number of cases.
What are you doing for our own well-being?
I have been watching a lot of the real housewives, having baths. Drinking red wine and also trying to go for walks where possible.
